GOLDRUSH 2.0 SERVERFIX
Some admins reported a problem when they tried to run a server using the goldrush_server.cfg provided with Goldrush 2.0 Final (full version). After doing some research i found out that the goldrush_server.cfg is too big.
It seems that when an admin tried to make a server with the original cfg, then the server only reads the first 16384 bytes and then stops. Result is a 'running server' but without a map.
So i fixed the size of the config (deleted unnecessary comments) and i added a batchfile to help you to start a server (batchfile uses goldrush_server.cfg and example.mapcycle)...
Hopefully this fix is useful for people who have trouble running a Goldrush 2.0 server!
INSTALLATION:
* Extract all files to your goldrush directory
* Edit the goldrush_server.cfg to your likings
* If you are behind a firewall and/or router you might need to open and forward some ports used by the server

Goldrush is a multiplayer mod for Soldier of Fortune 2...

Map and Gamevoting enabled
The mod is be available for download HERE
To play it you must have:
* the Gold patch installed
* a pc with a minimum of 256MB of ram (com_hunkMegs 128 is the minimum)
Goldrush focuses on gameplay, but it also has a nice admin/refereesystem and many useful features.
It will be hard to name the all, but these features are probably the most important ones:
* realistic speed: add weights to weapons, items, gametype-items, health/armor and certain movements. Examples:
- players running a knife are usually faster than someone running around with a m60
- players who carry a gametype-item (flag, briefcase or bomb) are usually slower
- wounded players are slower than healthy players

Another coder to help with the action!
Can we welcome Buu of the RTW Clan to the team :).
Buu is a coder and he is going to help us creating an adminsystem for Goldrush, based on the RTW adminmod. After that we hopefully are going to work together to improve/expand Goldrush even more (there are plenty of ideas left)!
We are also going to look around to see if we can get more help (modellers, skinners, etc). It would be nice to have some customs models, or more and better skinpacks, maybe sounds, etc etc... and we want to finish the mod before the end of next century. hehe.

Two great maps to add to your already great Goldrush mapcycle.
GODh and Hector have been busy lately.
Hector with his new job, GODh with his new PC. Everything is getting better with our maps with a Counter-Strike port from GODh of Inferno and Harbour Assault by Hector, a new map BASED on his popular SoF1 map.

Late latest download up for grabs
I have been away for a long time with computer problems so this news post is a little late ( ok, very much late ) but there is an update for the 1.2 Goldrush Mod.
Goldrush 1.3 has been out and about. Which there are fixes and additions which includes a new gametype.
With all the changes in this update the patch is only 1.3MB so no 1.3 full version is going to be released.

Changes: * New gametype: Classic Team Deathmatch (each team has their own base)
> For now, pickups have been disabled otherwise there won't be too much maps ready to play CTDM
> CTDM works with all maps that support ELIM (including Finca and Barn)
* Added a new cvar: g_allowFreeTeamSkins (0=off/1=on) [default = 0]
> This allows players to play in all MP skins available on the server in teamgames (same skins as in DM)

Can we have a rest now?
Here is the 1.2 beta patch for Goldrush, a multiplayer modification for Soldier of Fortune 2.
You may download the update HERE, full patch soon. ( very large download )
This patch needs to be installed over the 1.1 version. It doesn't matter if you have the texturefix installed or not as that that same fix is also included in the 1.2 patch (to prevent unnecessary confusion)!
The 1.2 patch contains some bugfixes, 2 new gametypes (based on INF), improved bots, extra cvars to add extra realism like 'realistic damage'
Changes: - Added: g_allowColoredTeamNames (0 = off, 1 = on) Default = 0
- Added: g_allowEnemyNames (0-1) Default = 0 (off) -> If set to 1 the names of enemies will be shown in teamgames
- Added: g_allowAutoUnderFire (0-1) Default = 1 (on) -> Under certain circumstances players shout "under fire"
